Ajoupa Interiors’ bespoke services cover curtains, blinds, cushions, shutters, headboards and upholstery. Everything is meticulously handmade and of the highest quality.

The bespoke soft furnishing process can feel daunting given the many decisions involved. From colours, fabrics, and curtain styles, to trimmings, lining, interlining, and hardware, Ajoupa Interiors can advise on options and bring your ideas into reality.

Curtains

Ajoupa Interiors makes hand sewn bespoke lined and interlined curtains, including for bay windows. I advise on fabrics, curtain styles and headings, and tracks and poles best suited to your room and style. 

Blinds

Hand sewn roman blinds can provide a tailored finish to your window. Ajoupa Interiors also offers other blind options such as roller blinds, wooden venetian blinds, and roof blinds.

Alongside curtains and roman blinds, Ajoupa Interiors also offers many other soft furnishings, such as cushions, window seats, custom headboards, lampshades, and pelmets. These help make a room design more cohesive and comfier.

The Process

Phone Consultation

Your free personal consultation begins with a phone call to discuss your needs. We will cover your space and how it’s used; explore your personal style, how you want the room(s) to feel, and any colours or fabrics of interest to you. This will inform the design options I propose during the subsequent in-home consultation.

In-home Consultation

A site visit is arranged, where I visit your home in person to discuss your needs in further detail and take detailed measurements. I will bring along a range of fabric books and other samples, selected based on our initial call, which will allow you to see the look and feel of the different options in your home. Depending on your requirements, we will also cover curtain / blind styles, finishing trims such as pom poms or tassels, as well as tracks and poles. This process can be supplemented with additional samples, sent to you by post.

Quotation

Once you’ve decided on your items, a detailed quote will be provided for your approval. It outlines the cost of each item for the design choices and is valid for 60 days. Once approved, a 50% deposit is required to get work started.

Production

The time needed to make your bespoke soft furnishings depends on the nature of the item(s). For example, your order may include made-to-order fabrics that have a lead time. In general, it takes six weeks from receipt of your chosen fabric to complete your bespoke curtains. This may be less for some projects. We will discuss the timing for your requirements and an indicative lead time during the quotation stage.

Installation

Nearing completion of your soft furnishings, we will agree a date for an on-site visit to deliver and install them. I do like to ensure that your bespoke products are installed to look their best, and I hang and dress your soft furnishings at no extra charge.

Ajoupa Interiors works with an experienced fitter who installs all hardware such as curtain tracks and poles or headrails for roman blinds.
